Settings is a portfolio-level module. Access it from the left navigation bar before selecting a building. Changes you make here apply across your entire Cloud BMS instance.
The Settings module provides administrative configuration for your Cloud BMS instance. It manages buildings, users, device types, document types, units, and tags that apply across your portfolio.

Buildings

The Buildings section provides detailed configuration for each building in your portfolio.
Admin Settings Buildings page showing a list of buildings with picture, name, category, and address columns

The Buildings page lists all buildings with their picture, name, category, and address

1

Navigate to buildings

Go to Settings and select Buildings. Use the search bar to find your building or browse the list.
2

View building details

Click a building name to access its configuration. Five tabs are available:
  • Details shows the building name, address, construction year, and category
  • Areas lists the floors, zones, and rooms (see the areas documentation for management)
  • Users shows users assigned to this building
  • Files contains building-related documents and 3D BIM model files, with creation logs and file metadata
  • Devices lists devices associated with the building

Add a BIM file

Upload a 3D BIM model file on the building Files tab before you add it to an area dashboard. Supported formats include .fbx and other 3D file types your organization allows.
1

Open building files

Go to Settings and select Buildings. Click the building name, then open the Files tab.
2

Add a BIM model

Select the three-dot menu to the right of the search bar and choose Add BIM Model. Upload or select your 3D model file.

The Files tab three-dot menu includes Add BIM Model for uploading 3D building models

3

Confirm the upload

After the upload completes, the file appears in the table with Type set to BIM Model. You can search and filter files using the search bar.
The Files menu also supports Add Floor Plan, Add Device File, and Add Building File for other asset types. BIM files are used only with the BIM Model widget in Areas.

Column
Timestamp when the file was uploaded.

Manage building users

From a building’s Users tab, you can view all users assigned to that building and manage their access.

The Users tab shows assigned users with their name, email, position, role, and phone number

Click + Assign Users to add users to the building. Search for users by name, select or deselect them, and click Save changes.

Device settings

The Devices tab under a building’s admin configuration controls how device detail pages behave for that building. Use it to set the default landing page, show or hide tabs and summary cards per canonical type, and control which points appear by default. Building-level settings apply to all devices in that building. Export and import configurations to reuse the same setup across your portfolio.
1

Open device settings

Go to Settings > Buildings, then click the building name. Open the Devices tab. Three customization sections are available: Default Navigation, Tabs & Cards, and Point Visibility.

Default navigation

Choose which page opens when a user opens a device.
Devices tab showing Default Navigation options with Last Navigation, Trends, and Graphics radio buttons

Default Navigation lets you choose the landing page for device details

Radio
The device opens to the last page the user visited on that device. This is the default setting.
The device always opens to the Trends tab.
Radio
The device always opens to the Graphics tab. If no graphic is available for the device, it opens to Trends instead.
Click Save Changes to apply your selection.

Tabs and cards

Configure which tabs and summary cards appear on device detail pages, organized by canonical device type. End users see only the tabs and cards you enable for that device’s canonical type.
Tabs and Cards configuration showing a matrix of device types and toggles for Graphics, Work Orders, FTT, FDD Events, Schedule, Referenced Devices, and Weather

Tabs & Cards controls tab and card visibility per device type

Each row represents a canonical device type (for example, ahu, airQuality, coolingTower). The columns are split into two groups: Toggle each option to show or hide it for that canonical type. The Trends and Device Details tabs are always enabled and cannot be hidden. If you disable Graphics for a canonical type, that tab is hidden on matching devices.
Hide tabs and cards that are not relevant to specific equipment types. For example, disable Work Orders or Weather on device types where operators do not need them.
Click Save Changes to apply your updates.

Point visibility

Control which points are visible by default on device detail pages. Configuration is based on ontology field and applies per canonical device type.

Point Visibility lets you show or hide specific points per device type

1

Select a canonical type

Use the dropdown to select the canonical device type you want to configure (for example, ahu).
2

Filter and search

Optional: filter by StatusAll or In Use. Use Search to find ontology fields quickly.
3

Set visibility

Points are grouped by ontology field. For each field, set Show (visible by default) or Hidden (hidden by default). Use Show all or Hide all within a group to bulk-toggle every field in that section.
4

Save changes

Click Save Changes to apply the updated visibility settings.
On the device Trends tab, hidden points do not appear in the left panel by default. End users can reveal them with Show Hidden.

Import and export device settings

Export and import applies to all device customization settings: Default Navigation, Tabs & Cards, and Point Visibility. Use it to copy a proven configuration from one building to another.
Import Device Settings with Sheet dialog showing a file upload area

The import dialog accepts a spreadsheet file with device settings

1

Export from a source building

3

Review and save

Review the imported changes, then click Save Changes to apply them.
Export settings from a fully configured building first, then import them into other buildings to standardize device pages across your portfolio.
