Points batch update allows you to modify properties across multiple points simultaneously. Use it when you need to change writability settings, rename or reclassify points, assign units of measurement, or apply normalization tags at scale.

When to use batch update

Batch update is most effective when you need to:
  • Enable or disable writability across a group of points
  • Apply normalization tags to multiple unnormalized points
  • Assign or update units of measurement
  • Reclassify points after a device template change

Perform a points batch update

1

Open Batch Update Points

From the building view, click Points in the left navigation bar, then select Batch Update Points from the sidebar.
2

Select points

Use the filter row at the top to narrow results by Field, Kind, Device Type, Ontology Type, Area, Data Sources, or Writability. Select the points you want to update by checking the boxes next to each point name. The selection count appears above the table.
3

Set properties

The Properties panel on the right side displays the fields you can modify for the selected points.

Expand Show selected points to verify the exact points that will be updated

Changing writability affects whether users can command these points from Cloud BMS. Removing writability from points that are actively used in schedules or automation may disrupt those operations.
