Make mass edits to point metadata, writability, normalization, and units across multiple points at once.
Points batch update allows you to modify properties across multiple points simultaneously. Use it when you need to change writability settings, rename or reclassify points, assign units of measurement, or apply normalization tags at scale.
From the building view, click Points in the left navigation bar, then select Batch Update Points from the sidebar.

Select points
Use the filter row at the top to narrow results by Field, Kind, Device Type, Ontology Type, Area, Data Sources, or Writability. Select the points you want to update by checking the boxes next to each point name. The selection count appears above the table.

Set properties
The Properties panel on the right side displays the fields you can modify for the selected points.

Set or update the unit of measurement (°F, °C, CFM, PSI)

Apply tags to the selected points

Set the change-of-value tolerance threshold
Precision
Choose the decimal precision for displayed values
Metadata
Add or update metadata key-value pairs
Writability
Toggle writability on or off for the selected points. When enabled, choose which actions the points accept: Override, Set, and optionally Set in Slot16 (Niagara). Set in Slot16 makes Set write to priority 16 instead of the fallback or default value.
Graph Visibility
Toggle whether the points appear on graphs by default
Select points from the table and edit their properties in the right panel

Apply and review changes
Click Apply at the bottom right. The Review Changes dialog shows a summary of the changes that will be applied to the selected points.
Review Changes summarizes the updates before you confirm
Check Show selected points to expand the list and verify which points will be affected. Click Confirm to apply the update.

Changing writability affects whether users can command these points from Cloud BMS. Removing writability from points that are actively used in schedules or automation may disrupt those operations.
