Define a Data Source
In AssetOps, you can manually define data sources as.xlsx files that are used to configure and import assets in bulk, providing full control over the details for each new asset.
To create a new data source, follow the steps outlined below.

Open a building from the portfolio
From the portfolio-level, navigate to the Buildings section and select a building.

Open the Asset Discovery section
In the building-level sidebar, select Asset Discovery.

Add a new data source
Once inside Asset Discovery, click
+ Add Data Source.4
Configure the new data source
Enter a name for the new data source and upload the required
.xlsx file.Download the asset import template to get started.An example configuration for each column in the template is provided below.5
Save
Click
Save to create the new data source.Discover Assets
Once you have added a data source, you can initiate an asset discovery to retrieve assets from that source. After retrieval, you can review and select the assets you want to add to the building. To initiate a new asset discovery, follow the steps outlined below.1
Open a building from the portfolio
From the portfolio-level, navigate to the Buildings section and select a building.

Open the Asset Discovery section
In the building-level sidebar, select Asset Discovery.

Navigate to Discovery logs
Once inside Asset Discovery, navigate to the Discovery Logs section.

Initiate Asset Discovery
Once inside Discovery Logs, click
+ Initiate Discovery.You must select a data source and click Initiate Discovery in the modal5
Select Assets & Save
Once asset discovery is complete, a dialog appears with a summary of the discovery results.

Go to Detailsto navigate to the details page for the initiated discovery. - On the details page, you will find two tabs: and .
- In the New Assets tab, select the assets you want to add

Lastly, click
Save.
