In AssetOps, task templates are created at the portfolio-level and represent reusable task definitions for recurring maintenance activities. Using task templates helps standardize how work recurring maintenance is defined across the portfolio, ensuring consistent task definitions and expectations. This in turn negates need for duplicate or ad hoc task creation. You can assign task templates when scheduling work orders.

Create Task Templates

To create a task template for preventive maintenance, follow the steps outlined below. The steps differ depending on whether you are creating a template for Preventive Maintenance or Inspection.

Open the Task Templates section

In AssetOps, navigate to the Task Templates section in the portfolio-level sidebar.

Select the Work Type

Select Preventive Maintenance as the work type.

Select one or more Asset Types

Select one or more asset types that the template applies to.

Define the estimated time

Enter the estimated time in Hours and Minutes.

Enter a description

Enter a description for the task template.

Bulk Import or Update

You can import multiple task templates at once by uploading a .xlsx file preconfigured with your task template details. Use this method to quickly add several templates in one go. You can also import and update templates simultaneously using a combined .xlsx file. This allows you to add new templates and update existing ones in a single action.

Manage Task Templates

The Task Templates section lists all available task templates. Each template has a dedicated page where you can view and manage its details. To manage a task template, follow the steps outlined below:

Open the Task Templates section

In AssetOps, navigate to the Task Templates section in the portfolio-level sidebar.

Select a task template

Select a task template from the list. You will be taken to that template’s page.

Manage the task template

Once inside the template’s dedicated page you can complete the following actions:
  • Use the icon to edit the template details.
  • Use the icon in the upper right corner to delete the template.
  • Use the attachment controls to delete existing attachments or add new ones.
