An asset represents a physical device or piece of equipment located within a building. Assets require monitoring, maintenance, or operational oversight. Assets are managed at the building level, where authorized users can view, add, and manage the assets associated with each building in the portfolio.
Asset Categories & Types
In AssetOps, every asset is required to have both a category and a type. Categories define the general function or role of an asset within a building, while types provide a more specific classification for that asset. This structure ensures that assets are consistently categorized and clearly defined
Asset Categories
AssetOps includes three predefined categories, allowing you to organize assets during asset addition based on their function and role within a building.
-
The Equipment category represents mechanical, electrical, or operational devices such as HVAC units, generators, elevators, and other systems that require regular maintenance and servicing.
-
The Architectural category represents structural and building elements such as walls, roofs, doors, windows, and flooring that are part of the building’s physical structure.
-
The Furniture category represents movable items such as desks, chairs, cabinets, and other furnishings that support the use and functionality of the space.
Asset Types
An asset type represents a more specific classification of an asset, and is always defined within the context of its corresponding asset category. AssetOps allows you to define any asset type you want when adding new assets.
