Generic work orders are used to create one-time maintenance tasks focused on correcting issues and restoring asset operation. They help teams address unplanned problems quickly, minimize downtime, and maintain asset reliability. You can generic work orders for assets and areas.
While the creation process remains consistent across both levels, users must manually designate a building when creating work orders from the portfolio-level.

Generic Work Order Configuration

To create a generic work order, follow the steps outlined below.
The following procedure outlines the steps for creating a generic work order at the building-level.

Enter the building level

From the portfolio-level, navigate to the Buildings section and select a building.

Navigate to Work Orders

Navigate to the Work Orders section in the building-level sidebar.

Create Work Order

Click the + Create Work Order button to create a new work order.

Configure General Details

Complete the required general details.
If you select an asset, the area is automatically assigned and the work order is created for the asset. To create a work order for an area instead, leave the asset field blank.

Configure Assignment Details

Complete the required assignment details.

Configure Timeline Details

Complete the required timeline details.

Save

Click Save to create the work order.
