Click **Certifications** in the building left sidebar. The page subtitle reads: manage and track certifications for your building. For portfolio-wide dashboards, see [Portfolio certifications](/products/energ/analytics/portfolio-certifications). ## Open Certifications From [Portfolio Home](/products/energ/analytics/benchmarking), open a building in the building view. Click **Certifications** in the left sidebar. Use the download control to export the certification list to a spreadsheet. | Column | What it shows | | ---------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | | **Certification Name** | Program and level, such as **LEED - Building Design and Construction (BD+C) - Silver** | | **Score** | Program score when you enter one (for example, ENERGY STAR or LEED). Score source can be Manual or Portfolio Manager sync when linked | | **Expiration** | Expiration date for the award | | **Data Last Reviewed** | Last time data was verified | | **Consulting Fee** | Third-party consulting cost, such as **\$120,000** | | **Certification Fee** | Program registration or audit fee, such as **\$25,000** | | **Renewable Status** | Days until renewal or **Expired** badge | | **Responsible** | Owner or contact for the certification | | **Documentations** | Linked evidence files | | **Historical Logs** | **View History** link for prior versions | | **Actions** | Edit icon to open **Edit Certification** | | Status badge | Meaning | | ------------------------ | -------------------------------------------------------------- | | Blue pill with day count | Active certification with days remaining, such as **133 days** | | **Expired** (red) | Past expiration date until you renew or update the record | ## Cost analysis **Total Investment Analysis Across Certification Programs** summarizes consulting and certification fees in a stacked bar chart. | Series | Meaning | | ------------------------------ | -------------------------------------- | | **Consulting Fee** (green) | Professional services cost per program | | **Certification Fee** (orange) | Direct program or audit fees | Compare programs such as **LEED**, **BOMA**, and **Energy Star** to plan renewal budgets. Portfolio rollups use the same structure on [Portfolio certifications](/products/energ/analytics/portfolio-certifications#cost-analysis). ## Add a certification Click **+ New Certification** to open **Add Existing Certification**. Add Existing Certification panel with Switch to Custom Awards button Certification Program Category Rating Award Date Expiration Date fees Upload Documents and Notes with Close and Submit buttons Click **+ New Certification**. Toggle **Switch to Custom Awards** when the program is not in the standard list. Choose **Certification Program**, **Category**, and **Rating** from the cascading dropdowns. Set **Award Date** and **Expiration Date**. Enter **Certification Fee** and **Consulting Fee** when you track spend. Enter the program **Score** when you track ENERGY STAR, LEED, or other scored programs. When the building is linked to [Portfolio Manager](/products/energ/data-sources/portfolio-manager), pulled scores can populate this field and optional write-back can update Portfolio Manager. Add PDF certificates or supporting files in **Upload Documents**. Enter points or compliance references in **Notes**. Verify the uploaded file matches the award name and rating on the certificate. Click **Submit**. The row appears in **Certification Details** and updates the cost chart. ## Edit a certification Click the edit icon in **Actions** to open **Edit Certification**. Click **Update** to save changes. Use **View History** in the table to review prior versions without losing audit context. ## Monitor expiration Watch **Renewable Status** for day counts that approach zero. Past dates show **Expired** until you renew the certification and update dates or upload a new certificate. Log consulting and certification fees separately so portfolio cost analysis and annual budgets stay accurate. ## Next steps Review certification coverage and investment charts across the portfolio.
