In the [portfolio view](/products/energ/get-started/navigation#portfolio-view), open `Dashboards` in the left sidebar, then select `Water`. The page header reads **Water** with the subtitle *Water Use, Efficiency, and Performance Overview.* ## Water report menu After you select `Water`, use the secondary menu to switch report types. | Report | What it shows | | ----------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | `Monthly Reports` | Portfolio monthly water usage and cost by month, service type, and building | | `Annual Reports` | Annual water usage and cost by building, service type, and water use intensity | | `Target` | Actual, target, and baseline water comparison charts for a selected target | | `Data Table` | Sortable water billing and calendarized line items with export | The portfolio Water menu does not include building-only items such as `Comparison` or `Data Quality`. Open a building to access those reports on the [Building Water dashboard](/products/energ/analytics/building-dashboards-water). `Monthly Reports` is the default view when you open `Water`. ## Monthly Reports ### Controls The control area matches the [Portfolio Energy dashboard](/products/energ/analytics/portfolio-dashboards-energy) layout. **Top row** * **Usage / Cost** — switches all charts between consumption in liters and billed cost * **Starred Buildings** — limit results to favorited sites * **Buildings** — select or deselect individual buildings * **Date range** — pick start and end months, such as 06/22/2025 – 05/22/2026 * **Filter** — open advanced filters **Second row** * **Building Type**, **Countries**, **States**, **Brands**, and **Regions** * **Currency** — appears when `Cost` is selected (for example, US Dollar) Portfolio water totals include every building that matches your active filters unless a widget states otherwise. ### Usage lens Select `Usage` to view consumption charts in liters (L). The legend typically maps to the **Water** service type for portfolio water dashboards. #### Usage per Building and Top 10 Buildings Movers Scroll below the service-type chart for building-level views. Confirm final bills before you use those months in reporting. ### Cost lens Select `Cost` to view water utility spend. Striped bars indicate accrued or incomplete billing periods. #### Cost per Service Type The **Cost per Service Type** chart groups water cost by service category for each month. #### Cost per Building and Top 10 Buildings Movers Cost per Building heatmap with teal to red cost scale by month and Top 10 Buildings Movers chart with legend from negative to positive dollar change Pair the Water dashboard with [Portfolio Home](/products/energ/analytics/benchmarking) when you rank buildings by WUI for the same date range. ## Annual Reports Select `Annual Reports` from the Water secondary menu to compare buildings and years. Use a **year range** (for example, 2021 to 2025) instead of the month picker on Monthly Reports. The filter rows match Monthly Reports. ### Usage lens With `Usage` selected, the main card is **Connected Usage and EUI Analysis** with paired bar charts. Create targets from the portfolio `Target` sidebar or on [Portfolio targets](/products/energ/analytics/portfolio-targets). ### Controls * **Breakdown by Service Type** — split charts by category when enabled * **Unit** — choose the volume unit for charts, such as **Cubic Meter** * **Target** — select which portfolio water target to display, such as a named 2040 reduction goal Portfolio Water Target page showing Target Water Comparison line chart with Actual Target and Baseline in cubic meters from December 2022 to February 2026, Delta from Target bar chart with teal and red bars, and Delta from Baseline teal bar chart ### Charts | Chart | What it shows | | --------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------- | | **Target Water Comparison** | **Actual**, **Target**, and **Baseline** trends over time | | **Delta from Target** | Monthly gap between actual use and the target trajectory | | **Delta from Baseline** | Monthly difference between actual use and the baseline period | Teal bars below zero in **Delta from Target** mean actual use fell below the target. Red bars above zero mean usage exceeded the target for that month. ## Data Table Select `Data Table` from the Water secondary menu to audit line-level water billing and calendarized records. ### Filters and export * **Starred Buildings** and **Buildings** — limit rows to favorites or selected properties * **Building Type**, **Countries**, **States**, **Brands**, and **Regions** — portfolio scope filters * **Period Type** — control how periods are grouped * **Service tags** — active chips such as `Full Service` and `Delivery` * **Date range** — restrict rows, such as 05/22/2025 – 05/22/2026 * **Export** — download the filtered table Filter **Service Type** to **Water** when you need only water meters. Scroll horizontally for all fields, including meter, building, service type, charges, usage, `Estimated`, and `Data Origin`. For every column definition, see [data table columns](/products/energ/reference/data-and-meter-fields#data-table-columns). Confirm **Service Type** is **Water** before you report portfolio water totals from Data Table exports. Mixed-service exports can include electric or other meters when filters are broad. ### Pagination The footer shows page count and **Lines per page** (for example, 1–50 of 210 on Billing Period). Use the arrows to page through large portfolios. ## Export Water dashboard data Set the building filter, date range, and Usage or Cost toggle to match the data you want to export. Use the export action on Data Table or the dashboard export control when available. Exports reflect the filters and date range active when you start the export. ## Next steps Review energy usage, cost, and emissions for the same portfolio scope. Track waste quantities, diversion, and capture rate portfolio-wide. Compare WUI rankings on the Home page before you open water charts. Create portfolio water reduction targets for the Target view. Connect water meters and utility data that feed portfolio water totals.
